Central Theme
Prison Break is an American television series that premiered on the Fox Network on August 29, 2005. The story revolves around a man who was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit and his brother's involved plan to help him run off his death sentence.
The sequential story organization of Prison Break is credited to the format of storytelling adapted by the writers as each episode covers’ part of the escape plan, a similar format used by Lost and 24. The first season of Prison Break was primarily filmed at Joliet Prison, which also contribute to the uniqueness of the show. Its success and acknowledgment as a prison drama also revived importance in the genre.
Main Character
Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield from "Prison Break"
Michael Scofield is the main central character in the American television series Prison Break. He is pictured by Wentworth Miller. The character first appeared in the series show as a man who stages a bank robbery in order to get sent into the jail where his elder brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), is being held until his execution. The idea of Prison Break revolves around the two brothers and Michael's plan to help Lincoln run off his death judgment. As the principal character, Michael has been featured in every episode of the series. Although both Lincoln and Michael are the key character of the series, Michael has been featured more widely than Lincoln, particularly in the first season
Do you take This Show Seriously?
I am certainly guilty of taking television show to seriously. It’s easy to get addicted to watching a certain show at a certain day and time and when it’s missing being disappointed. There are several shows that I'll go watch it on line just to see it or buy the whole season when it’s available. Too much of anything can result in getting addicted to it. Television is just a mode of entertainment and information and do not end up being too serious about it.
Dose it affects you in the way you see the world?
We like to be entertained. We like thrill. We like to see good-looking men and beautiful women. We like to imagine (and safely) know-how the experiences of other people. We like to be drawn into dream worlds that we will perhaps never be able to experience firsthand.
But, possibly most of all, we like to passively relax in front of "television," select our shocking experiences, and let them flood over us without any real effort on our part.
The effects of Television Show are huge, ranging from audience having a distorted perception of real life to actually becoming mentally addicted to a show. On the other hand, the effects participation has on contestant are double; some persons go on to great success while others find that the same success goes to their heads and lands them in a mass of trouble.
Those who tune into television shows week after week are shown what is thought as reality, when in essence it really isn't. Many of these shows are staged, choreograph and edited to make the viewing public "think" that what is going on is real life. Much of what you see on reality television is only part of what is actually going on in that particular situation after the editing.
To boost ratings and profits, producers and television networks show more of the embarrassing, humiliating or hurting situations Viewers, rather than the "boring" everyday events. Viewers find these shows so entertaining that they come back for more the following week or instead find it so appalling that they can't turn it off.
